While elephants are avoided by many predators due to their sheer size, young calves do not pose so much of a threat as they grow. Its size makes it an easier target when it comes to attacks by other animals.
But predation on elephant offspring can have dangerous repercussions, one safari guide found. He saw how far a herd of elephants would go to protect their young calves from harm. He was there to observe the trails of a group of wild dogs that approached the herd.
He soon realized that a herd of wild dogs had approached the elephant herd and confronted them. Smith said in the video that the elephants immediately caught fire when the dogs approached.
Not only did the adults chase the wild dogs, but the kid also decided to join us and charge. After the dogs escape, the elephants won’t take any chances. They all made a circle of protection around the child.
