Lek Chailart founded the Elephant Nature Park to help save these beautiful creatures. She is using the park to rehabilitate elephants who have been physically or emotionally abused. Many elephants come from circuses and have suffered years of trauma. Chillart treated elephants for all kinds of ailments, from broken bones to blindness, CBS News reports.
While all of her children receive the loving care of Chillart’s heart, the elephant receives the most intimate treatment ever. It’s Fa Mai, a woman born ten years ago in an elephant park, falling asleep to the soothing sounds of Chillart’s song. The process is as wonderful as it is amazing.
When Chailart decides it is time for Faa Mai to sleep, she walks towards the elephant and begins her song. Fa Mi responds by wrapping the woman in her chest and rounding her. This, of course, translates into such a warm hug that it’s hard to even imagine.
