Abandoned animals are always a heartbreaking sight. Even if they do end up in shelters somehow, they aren’t always adopted. Many of them never find a forever home and spend their entire lives without ever finding a family.
This is the story of such a dog, Cinnamon.
When Sarah Sleime first saw the lovely creature in Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (CMACC) located in North Carolina, she was devastated.
After asking around about Cinnamon, the eager volunteer found out that the 7-year-old Pit Bull was used by her previous parent as a breeding dog. Then she was abandoned heartlessly. The sad creature could always be seen with eyes full of sadness and tears.
“Someone dumped this poor mama at the shelter, minus her babies,” Sleime posted on her Facebook. “Every time I stopped to talk to her and say I was sorry her eyes would fill with tears (check out the reaction at -:13). Heartbreaking!!”
Sleime posted a video of Cinnamon on her Facebook page. It quickly went viral, receiving over 4.5 million views.
People from around the world watched the video, and soon, Sleime started receiving tons of messages from people who wanted to adopt the dog. But in the end, a kindhearted woman named Meghan Shelton took the pup home.
Shelton and her family visited Cinnamon at the shelter, and everyone quickly hit it off. Cinnamon loved Shelton and her kids!
Thanks to Slime, this wonderful moment was captured on camera. We can visibly see the lonely dog jump with joy at finding a new family. His heavy tears were no replaced with a face-splitting grin. Could there be anything more beautiful? Watch her journey in the video below:
