Hope For Paws, the non profit rescue group that helped stray animals get their second chance at better life, received an urgent call about a stray mama dog and her puppies. The family is living in a junkyard and need immediate help. Lisa Arturo and JoAnn Wiltz , rescuers from the group, quickly arrived to the location. They found that a good person was looking after the mom for over a year, making sure she’s well fed. Then the dog gave birth to nine cute puppies. Seven out of nine were given, and the two remained with their mommy.
When mom dog realized that the rescuers were there to save her and her puppies, she couldn’t hide her excitement. She wagged her tail and walked up to them to show her gratitude. Rescuers gave her some food, then they noticed that only one puppy was by her side, so they would have to go to look for the other one.
They first took the mom and her puppy to the car, then they started searching around the place for the second puppy. That’s when they discovered something heartbreaking—the other puppy had died. They had to call animal services since the deceased puppy can be carrying bacterial infections contagious to humans and other animals.
On their way to the vet, they got another call about a stray dog nearby. Rescuers set a trap with food inside because of the large open space and waited. Before long, he was captured and loaded up with the others. They named him Bingo, the mama Vegas, and the puppy Moondusk! 🙂
They cleaned all three dogs up and sent Vegas and Moondusk to LA Animal Rescue to be fostered and Bingo to Smooch Pooch Rescue where they found him the perfect family! After Moondusk was adopted, only Vegas is left needing a forever home.
