When YouTube user, Andrea, who also goes by the name of Misus Yaya, came across a shivering dog on the side of a busy road. She couldn’t just walked by and leaved him behind. He was in a very bad condition that she knew she had to do something for him.
The YouTuber immediately stopped to help the poor pup.
The dog named Benji, was covered in mange which left him hairless. He had also sores all over his body and he was severely malnourished.

Benji’s ears were scabbed and crusted, which was likely caused by a sarcoptic mange infestation. Andrea rushed Benji to the veterinarian who gave him a grim diagnosis.
The vet suggested that Benji be put down.
Andrea, looking at Benji’s sweet face, became determined to give him a second chance and not give up on him right away. She knew that she still has to try to save him.

“I found this dog on the street and when I called the vet he just said the best option is putting it to sleep but he looked so much happier now compared to yesterday,” Andrea said in one of her videos. “I think he has hope to heal. I don’t want to put him to sleep.”

Andrea knew that her mission was no easy task, but she was ready to do her best for Benji.
First Benji required doctor-administered antibiotic injections, regular baths, and round-the-clock care.
Then it was time to get Benji cleaned up.
“He smelled so bad back then and taking a bath didn’t help to make him it go away,” Andrea said.

Andrea had read that virgin coconut oil has antimicrobial and antifungal benefits, so she rubbed Benji’s body with the oil every day.
“I was so amazed at how fast his skin healed,” Andrea said.
Andrea also made sure that Benji got a nourishing diet and constant care and also lots and lots of love. It wasn’t long before Benji’s personality and spirit started to change. Benji didn’t look like the dog that Andrea found cowering by the side of the road three months before.

He is now a happy puppy again. He would wag his tail when he sees Andrea, run, and play.
He loved going on trips to the beach and getting to roll around in the sand.
It wasn’t long before his hair started growing back. Benji was now a scrappy and happy puppy. His hair grew back long and he became a soft teddy bear of a dog.
“His hair doesn’t stop growing,” Andrea said. “He keeps getting puffier and puffier every day!”
You wouldn’t believe that he is the same dog as Andrea found on the street.
“I hope Benji’s story will inspire others to do the same, be kind animals in need and adopt don’t shop,” Andrea said.
