When contacted to discuss the video, Mr. J told the outlet that the dog was in fact a stray, not a personal pet for any passers-by.
Mr. Ge revealed that he noticed the puppy standing on the corner of the road waiting for a taxi. While he was waiting for his taxi to arrive, he noticed the dog sitting on the side of the road. The dog was so cute that he forgot his taxi and started paying attention to the puppy instead.
As he told the Daily Star, Mr. J’s first thought was “maybe the dog was waiting to cross the road,” so he decided to take out his smartphone and photograph it. His instincts ended up being completely right. While photographing the dog, Mr. J says he was impressed by his patience.
