Chances are, a Penny Terrier can snowboard better than you. What makes a five year old Labrador Retriever truly exceptional is their superior skill that rivals most humans. He can snowboard like he was born to do!
It was Penny’s mother, Cheryl Del Sangreo, who was curious to see if Penny would cultivate her passion for figure skating a few years ago. Since she is a professional skateboard instructor herself, she was eager to find out if Penny was interested in the tricky sport. You can only imagine her surprise and happiness when Penny absolutely loved her!
It all started when Del Sangrio was teaching her 17 month old daughter to skate, and she saw why she wasn’t allowed to try out her adorable dog, too. Now Benny has his own skate clothes, as well as a pair of custom ice skates. While wearing these clothes, she also enjoys playing hockey. Most passers-by describe it as normal on the ice.
One of the surprising things that makes this story so amazing is that Benny was a shelter dog. Del Sangreo saved her and she couldn’t believe no one ever wanted her. Rahima was almost killed when she was a puppy.
These days Benny has fun showing off his skateboarding skills and learning new tricks every day. We really think Penny deserves an Olympic gold medal!
