According to CBS Sacramento, he noticed Evan Crystal Allen, an escaped victim of human trafficking, hiding behind a bush in someone’s lawn. He could hear her crying, and it shocked him as very unusual.
He told the newspaper: “I heard this crying when I got out of the car, so I approached her and asked. She was scared, she didn’t want to talk.”
Chrysostomo was able to help Aline call her mother, Stacey.
Stacy told CBS, “Terror…she was crazy…I didn’t know what was going on. I couldn’t even talk to her, she was so upset, and then I told her she should come in. contacted someone for security and gave Evan the phone and he immediately started moving and told me he would save my daughter,”
Crystal later told her story to local news station Fox 40. She said:
“I cried all the time and prayed that I could see my mother again.” One day I decided to take a break for it. I grabbed the smuggler’s phone and got out of his car! Then she quickly dialed her mother’s number.
At this point, Evan found her crouched behind a bush. Kristal’s mother Stacey Uhmann credits Evan with helping them locate the bewildered teenager. Krystal hands Evan’s phone and tells them where she is and what’s going on.
He stayed with her and tried to calm her down until the police arrived on the scene. He reassured her that he would be there to protect her.
On August 2, 2018, Evan and Krystal reunited. She wanted to personally express her gratitude for helping to save her from her miserable situation. Crystal Evan is a true example of a hero. You can watch their meeting in this touching video. Evan humbly ignores all the praise he gets for helping Crystal get to safety.
He thinks he was doing his duty as a postman and as a human being to be there for his neighbors.
