Martin was in a store in Louisiana when he decided to lick the ice cream and stick his finger in it and put it back on the shelf. He then posted the video to Facebook and investigators later arrested him on July 6, CNN reports.

Now it looks like Martin is out on bail and gave an interview about what he thought.

“It was a joke with no intent or criminal activity…but I was locked up with real killers and criminals with the utmost security,” Martin told WGMB Fox 44.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office confirmed Martin’s reckless attitude towards People, saying he felt he had done nothing wrong. He also admitted that he just wanted to be famous.

According to the sheriff’s office that pulled him over, it wasn’t funny. In a statement released to the press, they said:

“We discourage anyone from copying this heinous act,” a spokesperson for the mayor’s office in Assumption Parish told WAFB. “It’s illegal. It’s dangerous to the health of others. We will prosecute anyone we see doing this. You will be held accountable.”
