It’s true that dog is man’s best friend. They will protect you no matter what the situation, they will stay by your side whenever you need it, they will love you unconditionally. We come across countless stories of dogs staying loyal to their owners, one of these heartwarming stories happened in Russia, with a dog literally saving a little boy’s life.
In eastern Russia, there is a cool place far beyond the Ural Mountains. This is where you get your first view of the expansive Siberia vista. The area is characterized by very cold winds and foothills completely covered in layers of snow.
Siberian winters spell death for many people, including a young boy who was left in the cold after his parent abandoned him.
The boy was exposed to great danger after his mother left him on a stranger’s unheated porch.
That night, temperatures were as low as -12 degrees Celsius (10 degrees Fahrenheit). Under such bitter conditions, not many people would have thought it possible for the young one to live through the frosty weather.
The unnamed boy was left outside a house in Loktevsky district, in the Altai region of Southern Siberia, a short distance from the Kazakhstan border.
Luckily, a dog residing in the house noticed the abandoned boy.
In an effort to protect the boy from the extreme temperatures, the dog wrapped his body around the young boy. The boy was able to survive in the cold for a whole two days, thanks to the heat from the dog’s body and fur coat. This was until neighbors spotted both the dog and the boy.
By the time officials arrived at the scene, the boy had suffered only a mild case of acute hypothermia. Were it not for the shelter that the dog provided, the situation would have been much worse. There is a possibility that the boy would have frozen to death.
Since that time, the boy has made full recovery. His mother who had abandoned him, on the other hand, has faced child abuse charges.
