Police came to the rescue of a dog trapped in a flash flood in the Liburiana Valley near the town of Salgar in Antioquia, Colombia.

A few days earlier, a landslide had swept through the city, destroying hundreds of homes and killing at least 62 people. The small town was practically wiped off the map.

Amid the disaster, Colombian police spotted a dog drowning in the water. The video below captures the powerful rescue. Police officers race behind the dog and one of them risks his life by jumping into the water to save his life

Once they got the dog to safety, they immediately began administering CPR and mouth-to-nose resuscitation. At the end of the video, you see them carrying the pup to a car where he receives more medical attention.
