Melanie later explained that she chose the intention to spread love and positivity to everyone in her town. The couple spent the first hours of their married life helping the unfortunate. Instead of wearing a cape and costume, Melanie and Tyler wore hair nets and face masks as they helped feed residents of the facility.
The couple claimed to have been thanked by almost everyone who fed them. They even received congratulatory notes for their recent marriage. The organization’s executive director, Richard Trickle, praised the couple for their dedication to helping others, even on their wedding day.
He said the couple could have done just about anything else to celebrate their marriage, and instead chose to dedicate their day to donating to the shelter. Richard also mentioned that this is the first time a married couple has donated wedding food to the organization.
According to TODAY, the organization is very grateful for the donations as it has not received recurring funding to provide durable shelter for its residents. A little help and effort from Melanie and Tyler certainly had a positive impact.
