A friend filmed him wading through chest-deep sloppy water trying to save the helpless pup.

Miraculously, after 20 seconds, Douglas emerges from the building holding the limp, waterlogged dog in his arms.

After reaching higher ground, he placed her on concrete and gently stroked her head, assuring her that he had her back and that she would be fine.

He later said, “As the saying goes: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Douglas, who owns a dog, posted the video with the caption “Animals need help too”.

Soon Keira was reunited with her fun and grateful family.

“We are very happy,” said Fabiana Farias de Oliveira. “Thank God he was able to save Kira. Our children sleep with her every night, and losing her would be a disaster.”

Watch Douglas’ daring rescue in the clip below and share it to spread his thanks because this brave man sprang into action when he did!
