Confirming which glove once belonged to his son wasn’t too difficult. Her name on the glove was “Christopher Lizzie”. The amazing part was how and when he lost the glove. Parents Julie and Michael Lacey now live in Florida, and Julie found the glove in the Sunshine State. Christopher lost the glove in Ohio in 1978.

In 1978, Christopher hit two home runs to help win a season-ending minor league game for his team, The New York Times reports.

The event was a proud moment for ten-year-old Christopher. Unfortunately, the glove somehow lost after the game. It never happened and Christopher was horrified to lose a memory of such a precious memory.

After 42 years, it seems any idea of getting the glove back would be impossible. Essentially, the greatest odds were that it ended up in someone’s garage or basement, a long time ago. Worse still, it may have gone to a local landfill after cleaning. Apparently someone kept it for years, moved with it to Florida, and eventually sold it to a thrift store.

No one knows how the ancient glove found its way to Jupiter, Florida. But luckily it is and Lady Lizzie came across it while browsing the thrift store.

As soon as she saw the glove, emotion overwhelmed her. “When I first saw my wife she was about to cry and shake,” Mr Lacey said. “I thought something had happened and I turned the glove around and could see to the side.”

When she sent the photo of the glove to her son, Christopher was also very excited. “He was so excited,” Ms Lizzie said, “that he was jumping in place. He had just said, ‘Mom, take her home. “”

Today, the Lisi family, whose baseball gloves already carry sentimental weight, is reclaiming the glove. Their story is one of the most amazing, even miraculous, extravagant shopping tales.
