Dogs are undoubtedly my favorite animal. I grew up with dogs, and my family has been fortunate enough to have had everything from terriers to Labradors over the years.
Each dog has been special in its own way. For example, we had a mutt who loved to chew on shoes, which meant we were always running around looking for our sneakers before we went out.
At this point in my life, I can safely say that dogs all have different capacities for obeying their owner, which is why this video is so much fun.
It comes from a Finnish TV show. A group of dogs and their owners are competing to see which furry friend is the most obedient. In this particular test, the dogs are supposed to run straight to their owner—but their are temptations like candy, toys, and even sausage along the way.
Most of the dogs perform the exercise deftly, but a golden retriever who is perhaps a little smarter (?) than the other dogs realizes that it might be better to enjoy the journey instead of winning the prize at the end of the show.
When I saw this clip, I laughed until tears ran down my cheeks. I think it’s time I get a dog again! Watch the hilarious performance of this adorable dog in the video below:
