When they first met, this dog was 16-weeks-old and the cheetah was 8-weeks-old. At the time, Raina the dog was bigger and taller. He towered over his new friend, Ruuxa the cheetah. One year after their newfound friendship, you won’t believe it!

The two are now the same size. They’ve been used to each other, even becoming best friends. They play together and attend training “classes” together. The two live at the Busch Gardens located in Tampa, Florida. It’s an area set as a natural habitat for the animals.

The cheetah and dog have been raised together, and they see each other as family. See how they play along and rest should to shoulder on each other. They’ve been involved in various community and school events. This works well to raise awareness about the pros of protecting cheetahs, given that this breed is an endangered species. Only around 12,400 cheetahs are still alive in the world, and that’s disturbing.

Watch the clip here and see how these two friends spend their time with their trainer.
