Bella and Tarra are buddies who are joined at the hip. Bella is a Labrador and 35-year-old Tarra is in an Asian elephant that lives in Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary. The unlikely duo spends their days cuddling, playing, and romping.
While the other elephants in the sanctuary form friendships with members of their species, the doggy-elephant duo steals the show. Nobody seems to understand the connection between the two.
One day, Bella suffered a back injury. She had to be confined to three works as she slowly recovered. During the entire period, Tarra never left her side. Instead of roaming the 1800-hectare sanctuary, Tarra patiently waited at the office waiting to see her friend.
Three weeks later, the dog bounced back to health and the friends were back together. Sadly, Bella passed away shortly leaving Tarra devastated. Animals, just like humans, mourn the death of a loved one. Fortunately, the other elephants in the herd comforted Tarra.
