A guide dog showed incredible loyalty and courage when he saw an oncoming school bus heading towards his blind human.
He didn’t see school bus driver Audrey Stone and her service dog, Viggo, cross the street, but Viggo did see the driver and reacted by throwing himself at the part closest to the car’s shield. Stone.
According to USA Today, Brewster Police Chief John Del Gardo had nothing but admiration for Vigo, saying, “The dog took so many beatings. He didn’t want to leave her. He was with her. . He was there to save her.”
Fifteen paramedics arrived to help Stone, who fractured his right elbow and ankle and fractured three ribs. All the while, Figo wanted to stay by his side, and Stone called him out again and again.

Vigo badly tore his right leg and bandaged it with paramedics. Throughout this chaos, Viggo remained calm and did not bark or cry, despite the obvious pain.
Unable to accompany Stone to the ambulance, Viggo was taken to the Brewster Fire Department truck and taken to the vet.
Viggo and Stone are recovering from the operation, doing well and recovering in the hospital.
