A family in Florida lost their pet, Cedar, two years ago. It was heartbreaking, and as the days turned into weeks, then months, and finally years, their hopes and prayers didn’t seem to be being answered.
But then, when they no longer expected it, a miracle happened.
In 2017, the family noticed their youngest dog missing from their backyard in Southwest Ranches, a suburb of Miami, Florida. It seems stolen.
Cedar was only four months old at the time, and Tamara Peterson suspected someone had climbed the fence to steal the little dog. It was unlikely that the little puppy had come out of the fence and disappeared on its own.
Vice-Marshal Steve Ryan had dumped her in a snow-filled hole in Hugo, Colorado. Cedar had a leg injury and was malnourished when police found her in this rural part of the state, but she was alive and now an adult dog.
Police took her to a local veterinarian to find out about her injuries and medical condition. While she was there, they examined her for a little chip, at which point they quickly discovered her name and that she belonged to the Peterson family.
The Petersons kept their information up to date with the microchip company, so it was easy to contact them. Cedar will reunite with the family she missed and lost hope for her return. It’s been almost exactly two years since the German Shepherd went missing.
Return Trip: Next, Wings of Rescue will be brought in to help bring the animal back since it was found far from home.
