Recently, a video showing police officers having a snowball fight at a park went viral, sparking criticism from some members of the public.
However, the church which had uploaded the video later deleted it following the controversy that arose.
According to a spokesperson quoted in the Daily Mail, a member of the public had reported the video to Scotland Yard, the territorial police force responsible for policing Greater London’s 32 boroughs, and had demanded “disciplinary action.” The church responded by deleting the tweet containing the video.
Scotland Yard has since spoken to the police officers involved in the incident, but some members of the public felt that filing a report and complaint was unnecessary.
One person expressed surprise that the police did not have radios to immediately contact them if needed, while another referred to the complainant as a “sad individual.”
In the meantime, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police clarified to the Daily Mail that the officers involved were actually on a break at the time of the snowball fight. While some members of the public criticized the officers, others argued that the incident was harmless and the criticism unwarranted.
