Meghan Markle recently shared an emotional and heartbreaking moment from her personal life with her followers. The Duchess of Sussex said goodbye to one of the most cherished companions in her life, a loss that deeply affected her. She paid tribute to her beloved dog, Guy, and reflected on the special bond they shared.

“In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a shelter in Canada. He had been in a kill shelter in Kentucky and was only given a few days to live. I adopted him… and I fell in love.” Meghan chose the name Guy because the shelter staff used to call him ‘little guy.’

Meghan Markle and Her Loyal Companion
For years, Guy was by Meghan’s side through some of the most important moments of her life, including her relationship with Prince Harry, whom she married on May 19, 2018. The actress-turned-entrepreneur revealed that Guy also faced serious health challenges, and she recalled how she and Harry, then her boyfriend, would travel long distances just to be with him.

In a heartfelt video shared with her followers, Meghan included touching moments of her family—Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, now 6 and 4 years old—enjoying walks, outings, and even a picnic, where Meghan was seen with her daughter and their pets.

The Duchess, who revealed that Guy will be featured in her upcoming reality series *With Love, Meghan*, premiering on January 15, opened up about the depth of her sorrow.

“I have cried so many tears I can’t even count them—the kind that make you step into the shower with the absurd hope that the water running down your face will somehow wash them away or help you pretend they aren’t there. But they are. And that’s okay too.”

The former *Suits* star ended her tribute with a heartfelt farewell:

“Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you will never know.”
