Former U.S. Army service member Esperance Luminesca Fuerzina, 36, holds the record for most tattoos and body alterations among women, according to Guinness World Records. In addition to having a split tongue, implants beneath her skin, and numerous other cosmetic changes, an incredible 99.8% of her body is covered in ink.
This American, however, has not yet realized her ultimate goal and has no intention of stopping there. She told the Guinness World Records editors about her transformational journey.
At the age of 21, Luminesca had her first tattoo on her thigh. Ten years later, she started working on a body art project that resembled a harmonious painting. She went farther by splitting her tongue, adding symbols to her lip, inking her eyes and gums, and using ink when images alone were no longer sufficient.
Her hands and skull were fitted with implants to change their shape. But Luminesca doesn’t think she looks dangerous. She sees it as a way to express herself artistically.
Her nipples, genital piercings, crimson teeth, tattoos on the soles of her feet, and cropped ears are some of the most bizarre changes. The majority of the tattoo designs were created by artists rather than Luminesca herself, and these alterations occurred gradually.
In the future, the record-holder intends to seek higher education, experiment with new artistic mediums, and advocate for human rights. She also works with groups that raise awareness of HIV and volunteers at animal shelters.
