As per The Sun, Smith welcomed her daughter, Aida, shortly before her appearance on “Britain’s Got Talent” was scheduled to air on television. At 34 years old, she was already a mother to four-year-old Hudson. Her audition had been recorded approximately three months prior to her delivery.
Smith humorously remarked on Aida’s unexpected fame in the hospital that day, attributing it to her upcoming audition. She expressed her disbelief at the situation, labeling Aida as her “beautiful BGT baby.” Reflecting on the experience, Smith mused about how remarkable it would be for Aida to share the story of meeting Cowell before she was born with her friends in the future.
“The fact that she’s already had a moment on stage in front of Simon and the other judges is surreal,” Smith commented, adding, “I’m amazed at how everything has aligned, allowing me to share this moment with my baby girl and family.”
Smith revealed that her motivation for auditioning for the show was to provide a better life for her family. “My ultimate goal is to give my children the best life possible,” she affirmed. With Aida’s arrival, Smith feels her family is now “complete,” and the little girl has already brought immense joy into their lives.
The “BGT” Instagram page celebrated Smith’s dual milestones by sharing a photo of her from the audition, accompanied by a caption:
“Congratulations to Amy Lou! 🥳 Just hours before her audition aired on Saturday, she welcomed her beautiful baby Aida into the world! We wonder if little Aida will one day recall her role in that AMAZING singing performance… 😝💖”
