Verizon worker suspended after saving cat stuck on top of a utility pole

It’s pretty common to find cats stuck up trees and it’s firefighters’ job to save them.

However, this wasn’t the case with this one cat, because the rescuer was someone else other than a firefighter.

The cat, known as Princess Momma, was stuck up a utility pole in Pennsylvania and with the plea of her owners who waited too long for the fire department and animal rescue to come for help, a kind-hearted man, named Maurice German, saved the cat from a horrible predicament.

Maurice, who is a Verizon worker was praised for his geniune, brave gesture, but his company wasn’t. The man was reportedly suspended from his job after using their equipment to help the stranded feline.

Maurice German’s heroic rescue was caught on film by a local reporter who then shared it online where it soon went viral and attracted praise from thousands of people.

Verizon bosses saw the footage and reportedly suspended their worker for three weeks saying he put his and other people’s lives in danger, according to CBS Local.

The community gathered together to support Maurice and started a GoFundMe campaign to help him during his time off work; they raised over $7,000.
