They wanted to organize a surprise for George Watkins Sr. to convey their heartfelt appreciation. Even before the pandemic, George consistently went the extra mile to assist by carrying heavy packages into people’s homes, always wearing a warm smile.
“In the midst of the pandemic, we noticed George working longer hours, six days a week, while we were safely at home, and we felt compelled to show our gratitude,” shared Linda Muratore, a resident of the neighborhood.
She continued, “George was always cheerful and went out of his way to be exceptionally helpful, often lugging extra packages. Given the wonderful person he is and our long-standing connection with him, we wanted to give something back.”
Recognizing George’s inherent desire to lend a hand, they sent him a text message, requesting his assistance on a specific street at a precise time, claiming someone needed help. They were now readying themselves for the surprise.
