During the Season 16 Grand Finals of “Britain’s Got Talent,” Susan Boyle astounded everyone by joining the current Fantine on the West End stage, where she sang the second verse of “I Dreamed A Dream,” returning to the same platform that catapulted her career.

Following a resounding standing ovation and applause from the judges and the audience, hosts Ant and Dec inquired about Boyle’s feelings on returning after an extended absence. Boyle, though brief in her response, shared a significant revelation.

“It’s actually special for me because last April, I suffered a minor stroke. I fought like crazy to get back on stage, and I have done it,” she admitted. Her revelation prompted cheers from the crowd, celebrating her triumphant comeback after facing health challenges.

Simon Cowell, who initially harbored skepticism towards Boyle in 2009, offered heartfelt words upon her return. “Susan, we owe you so much, and I knew you weren’t well, but if anyone was going to come back, you were going to come back. We wouldn’t be the same without you. You are amazing,” he expressed.

Though the on-stage conversation was brief, Boyle took to her Instagram to share more about the health issue she had confronted. In her post, she revealed, “This evening was even more special for me as in April of 2022, I had a stroke. For the past year, I have worked so hard to get my speech and singing back, with the sole aim of being able to sing on stage again & tonight my hard work & perseverance paid off, singing the song that started it all, ‘I Dreamed A Dream.’” The comments on her post overflowed with love and support, celebrating her resilience in overcoming the minor stroke
