We are very fascinated by extraterrestrial life, the infinite space and the universe, but we forget something very important. The seabed hides many things, and that space is here on Earth. Do you know how the ocean is explored? Well, only 5% of the oceans have been explored, 95% have been left behind. Looking at it from another perspective, the ocean is known to occupy 70% of the Earth’s surface. That means 65% of the land is uncultivated. Who knows how many mysteries there are in the depths, how many strange creatures or debris or seamounts.

Let’s take this strange fish that was recently discovered as an example. Researchers have found that it lives in the depths of the Pacific Ocean. The microscopic mushroom (Macropinna microstoma) is characterized by its special shape but also by its head, which is something invisible.

The head is transparent and the eye system can be clearly seen on other organs. Macropina microstoma is a beautiful fish, its eyes can move both vertically and horizontally, and you can see in the photo that there are also two nostrils above the mouth. The researchers examined the specimen carefully and concluded that the transparent front is beneficial for hunting, as it can cover a large part of the field of view.

How many similar creatures does the ocean hide? How many monsters lurk in the depths of the ocean, in the waters so cold and inaccessible to humans? Let’s share this great information!
