Blue is a beautiful one year old pit bull. She was wandering the countryside of Midland, Michigan when she was rescued. Midland County Humane Society workers and volunteers were thrilled to discover that Blue had a microchip. She revealed her original home was up the road in Florida.
One of the volunteers decided to return Blue to his family. After taking some time off, the volunteer traveled 1,400 miles, anticipating a warm and happy reunion. When they reach her old home, Blue is thrilled that only a puppy could do it – but what happened next broke the volunteer’s heart
Rather than being thrilled to have her precious dog back, Blue’s owner said she doesn’t want her anymore. She claimed she had run out of time. At just 22, Blue’s owner already had a history with animals. The 22-year-old owner had three dogs, each of which either stole or ran away from the property.
“She gave up the dog after traveling over 1,400 miles. The only thing she said was that she didn’t have time to train the dog,” a Midland Humane worker said. Society of Michigan at the Detroit Free Press.
The volunteer knew it wouldn’t be a good situation for such a good pup anyway. She thought that if she left Blue behind, the dog would probably run away again. She parked her car and drove off. She and her husband traveled 1,400 miles to the Humane Society of Midland County.
Something good came out of the whole situation. Once Blue returned and word of what had happened to him spread, a number of families applied to adopt him. Now Blue has been adopted into a loving home where she will be pampered like the princess she is.
