While Quarles ignored the question and didn’t think his good deed was extraordinary, others saw it as a fine example of selflessness.
“There are still good people in the world,” said Dr Jones. “It seems to me that if every person in the world used the simple little gift that could benefit someone else, think what the world would be like.”
Ridge Quarles has been working on the Qdoba site for over five years. He has met the disabled woman many times but does not know her name. She doesn’t leave the house often, but when she does, the restaurant is her favorite place to eat.
Unfortunately, women are limited in several ways. When she arrives at the restaurant, she has to wait for someone to notice that she wants to enter the building and be ready to help her.
Quarles helped the woman into the restaurant and brought her meal.
As he was leaving he asked if there was anything else you needed
“I sat her down and as I walked away I asked her if she needed anything else,” Quarles told The Associated Press. “She asked me if I was going to help her eat.”
Deliberately linked quarrel.
This act of kindness caught the attention of her dinner colleague, Dr. David Jones. He filmed Quarles feeds the woman and thought he would share it with some friends.
“I said, I don’t know, I guess I’ll just send it to some of my friends and say, ‘There are still good people in the world,'” he told WAVE. 3, affiliated with NBC.
The video quickly spread far beyond a few friends
Quarles no longer works at Qdoba, but he was sure that the woman would be taken care of the next time she came, whether he worked there or not.
“It’s been so many times already that we know what you like to eat,” he told WAVE 3 News.
