Officer Kevin Zimmerman pulled over Andrela Jackson when he noticed a problem with her license plate. When he went to talk to Andrela, he saw that there were three children sitting in the back seat. None of the children were sitting in car seats or wearing seat belts, WTMJ-TV said.
Agent Zimmerman asked Andrela why her children weren’t properly restrained. I explained to the officer that she only had enough money to buy the car and was still saving money for the proper license and registration.
She also noted that a lack of funding also prevented her from buying car seats for her children and that when she made enough money, she would have to prioritize coats over car seats. auto.
Officer Zimmerman decided not to write Andrella a ticket. Instead, he took his details but had to leave the scene very quickly as he was called to respond to a new incident. Officer Zimmerman told WTMJ-TV:
“I’m a father, I have three children, I thought my children would jump. What if they were hit by a car and they flew away and were badly injured, if they weren’t killed?”
That’s when he decided to buy car seats to protect Andrela’s children.
When Officer Zimmerman arrived at Andrela’s house and told her what he had done, she was thrilled. She shared her joy in a social media post that read:
“He got arrested because the kids weren’t in the car seat and he went shopping and he put it in my car as well. My girls kept thanking him and he made them smile.”
The Milwaukee Police Department also shared the intimate story via social media.
