During his fourth appearance on SNL, Chris Farley found himself in the spotlight of a sketch for the first time. As he made his entrance, the audience’s immediate and uproarious reaction made it clear that Farley was here to stay on the show.

The ‘Chippendales’ skit has rightfully earned its place as one of SNL’s most adored segments. With Farley and Patrick Swayze’s hilariously suggestive dance to Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend,” it’s no wonder audiences couldn’t get enough. The judges, seemingly taking the dance competition seriously, impressively managed to maintain their composure without cracking a smile – a task nearly impossible for anyone who isn’t a seasoned actor.

Kevin Nealon, one of the judges in the skit, admitted that it was one of the most challenging times he’d ever had trying not to burst into laughter. Such was the comedic power of Farley’s performance.

Even Mike Myers, another judge in the skit, shared his experience in the 2015 documentary “I Am Chris Farley.” To keep himself from breaking character, he had to resort to a tight-lipped, quizzical expression he humorously likened to that of a “dog hearing a weird frequency.”
