Military personnel often have to travel to get where they need to go and usually gain an added advantage by doing so. They deserve that bit of recognition and appreciation for serving their country and many think they deserve more. When a man saw an army officer still in uniform sitting in a cart, he decided to do something to say thank you.

The airline that the officer and man were on board actually allowed members of the junta to advance on the rest of the plane, except for first class. When he saw the woman quietly queuing for the coach, he got up from his seat and approached her. She was confused when the gentleman told her he was in her place and replied that she thought she was in the right place. While she was still startled, she happily switched places with him.

While most people appreciate the attention they get from actions like this, the man who made the kind gesture requests anonymity. He left his first class seat and took his seat, 31B, in a car.

Another passenger on the flight, Jessica Titus, was able to witness the exchange. She said it was a pleasure to see such kindness from one of the other passengers of a uniformed housekeeper. She wrote a note offering to cover his food and drink, but he refused.

While the man was happy and grateful that his actions inspired another person to be kind, he didn’t want his money. Jessica later wrote on Facebook how people like him have made the world a better place and should get to know them. I shared the story of this gentleman’s behavior with a woman in military uniform on the I Like What Matters page. He received thousands of messages and more than 40,000 likes.

The world can be cruel and can use more kindness. It is important to do good to others even if you are not recognized, and that is exactly what this man did to a soldier flying in a tank. Although he may never have expected the story to go viral, thousands of people are thanking this mystery man for his actions.
