There’s nothing more beautiful than a horse stampeding across a sprawling grassy field, but if you’ve ever seen a horse compete in a dressage competition it is pretty spectacular too.
Dressage is the sport of horse dancing, and the horse in the video below knows all the right moves. Although you might have not ever heard of the event, it is actually a worldwide phenomenon.
EquiWorld explains that dressage is a high-level, high stakes sport. The horses are judged on paces, submission, impulsion, and the effectiveness of the rider to steer their horse through a series of carefully planned movements.
That means that in the routine you will see in the video below, Andreas Helgstrand and his horse Blue Hors Matine have spent hours of training and preparing for the competition.
As the music changes, so do the horse’s dance moves. Some of the music and moves are typical of dressage, but some of it really has the audience in awe. Some humans can’t even dance this well.
At the end of the performance, the judges give the routine high marks and the crowd goes wild.
