Our pets love us unconditionally, that is why we should show them sometimes our love and affection. A tummy rub if you have a dog, a rub under the chin for your kitten and a scratch behind the ears of your horse. Pets love such signs of affection and the extra scratching in areas they find hard to reach.
For horses, it’s been proved that scratching develops the bond between human and his horse and can be a sign of a reward for a good behavior. Animals appreciate when a human helps them scratch the area that is difficult for them to reach.
Studies show that horses’ heart rates increased when they received friendly scratches from their riders and owners. There also was movement in the upper lip when the horse was being scratched, according to the study.
The perfect example of this reaction is shown by this beautiful colt. His human went ahead and gave him a sweet scratch on the back of his neck. Following this, the little colt looked like he’s smiling while receiving this lovely treatment. The whole interaction is recorded by the owner and hour hearts can’t help but melting at this cute sight!
This adorable colt is precious to the family, because his grandmother was their first horse. She’s been loved and cared for for 17 years. They’re very happy that the horse family line is still expanding.
Take a peek at the video below yourself and we’re sure you won’t help but smiling back at this colt grinning as he gets a good scratch. His expression is just too funny!
He even shows a little teeth in his second smile — how cute is he?
