In these challenging times, faith serves as a foundational element for witnessing miracles, easily observable all around us. Throughout history, humanity has thrived amidst adversity, a truth that becomes apparent upon closer inspection. The heartwarming tale of the elderly couple, aged 90, serves as a poignant source of inspiration in moments of discomfort.
For many of us, matching the 70-year-long union between Loretta and David remains an unattainable feat. Their world was shaken upon learning of Loretta’s impending surgery, prompted by the discovery of a mass in her colon. Embracing the potency of prayer, they shielded themselves from discouragement, fortifying their faith. Their granddaughter, Krista Kellum, documented the unfolding events, highlighting what could only be described as a miraculous sequence of events, subsequently shared on Facebook on July 16th.
“I realize this is lengthy, but it’s truly remarkable and deserves to be shared,” she expressed, moved to tears by the enduring love between her grandparents. Confirming the mass through multiple scans, a dye test, and an obstructed colonoscopy, the family immediately turned to prayer. Krista recounts how her grandfather, in particular, devoted hours to daily supplications at the church. Unexpectedly, the day of the surgery brought about an astonishing turn of events.
“During the surgery, they began with a laparoscopy,” Krista recalls, “yet found nothing! Consequently, they delved into her colon and discovered the mass had vanished.” Loretta necessitated a slightly prolonged hospital stay for monitoring, underscoring her improved condition.
The waiting period proved most trying for David, consumed by the fear of losing his beloved wife. Krista sensitively captured Loretta’s homecoming on film, wherein David, overcome with happiness and relief, tearfully greeted her, “Hey, girl,” to which Loretta replied, “Hey, baby! Your boss has come home.” The touching narrative was even featured in a segment on ABC News
