Maggie had been under Helma’s tutelage since her preschool days. Knowing that leaving Maggie behind would be devastating, Helma visited her local REI store to seek assistance from Greg Coleman, hoping for a viable solution. Despite her efforts, no equipment at the store could accommodate Maggie’s weight, prompting Helma to explore alternative options.

From considering ponies to wheelbarrows and various creative approaches, none of the solutions proved to be safe for transporting Maggie. Just days before their planned departure, Helma received an uplifting email from Greg, expressing his unwavering commitment to finding a solution.

“I couldn’t let go of that idea. I really want to help you out,” Greg’s email read. He had successfully devised a perfect plan to enable Maggie to join the hiking trip.
