A beloved Seattle dog known for taking the bus alone in the big US city to the dog park has died at the age of 10. :
Thank you all for the heartfelt posts about the Eclipse Seattle bus riding dog that I loved so much. RIP to Doggie Heaven will never be forgotten, beautiful girl.
The strange phenomenon began in 2015 when its owner, Jeff Young, finished a cigarette and failed to notice in time that Eclipse had boarded the bus herself. The bus then drove off, but Eclipse pulled out of the correct stop and was later found by Young playing happily in the usual dog park.
She then made regular solo trips to the park, usually two to three times a week.
King Country Metro, Seattle’s public transportation authority, welcomed the discerning passenger on every ride. Eclipse eventually became its brand ambassador.
They made a music video featuring Eclipse and paid tribute to the pup on social media after hearing the news of his death.
