Scooter Terrain, Chase Vasquez and Miles Rodriguez left the field during the break. They went to their sporting director and asked him if he could stop the rude fans from bullying Desiree. Players told Kenosha News they were upset with fan behavior

They decided it was better to stand up for what was right than to continue playing their game. Many people noted their boldness, including Cliff Andrews, Desiree’s father.

He couldn’t stop the tears from flowing and thanked the eighth-year players for their actions. According to Kenosha News, basketball players entered the crowd defending Desiree saying, “Don’t mess with her.”

Cliff told Kenosha News that the popular television show “Glee” gave Desiree the inspiration she needed to join the cheerleading squad. Glee features Becky Jackson, a student with Down syndrome who is also a cheerleader at her school.

Basketball players now have an excellent relationship with Désirée. They even called the gym “D’s House”. School officials say there are discussions about creating a “D’s House” sign to hang in the gymnasium. Also, Desiree greets each player with a high five before the game begins.

The spirit of the school has grown since this demonstration of kindness.
The players’ gesture sent a message – not just about bullying issues, but about the importance of everyone’s acceptance.

According to this generation, God made everyone equal, so everyone should be treated equally and respectfully.
