Distracted by the phone call, the owner turns his back on her and walks away. It is then that the thief decides to act. First, the criminal reaches through the fence and tries to raise the dog.

The dog thinks it’s a toy and puts its paws on the fence. After that, the thief climbs over the fence, grabs the dog’s collar and already manages to get it off. All this happens in seconds.

Luckily the owner was there on the phone. He screams and runs and hits the man’s hand. The dog falls to the ground and the owner moves so that his body is between the post and the fence.

The owner immediately confronts the thief about what he just tried to do. Apparently the thief tried to pretend the dog was his.

It was clearly not true. He’s talking to the real owner who rescued him months ago, according to The Times Live.

When the owner demanded proof of this ridiculous lie, the owner called the police. The would-be thief again attempted to steal the dog. After a short struggle, the thief escaped.

This situation happened in Port Elizabeth, a city in South Africa. Still, Pit Bulls are stealing targets all over the world.

Marizan Ferreira, an animal rescue volunteer from Port Elizabeth, says criminals want bulls for dogfights, Times Life reports. She advises you to microchip your pet and monitor it closely.
