The officer opened his window to speak to the dog. When it turned out the dog was in distress, Constable Gonzalez got out of his patrol car. The dog started walking in one direction and clearly wanted the officer to follow.
Gonzalez knew the area well and realized the dog was trying to get a message across. When Gonzalez arrived at the doghouse, he saw its owner slumped in a chair.
Officer Gonzalez ran over to the woman to check on her vitality. At first he thought the woman was already dead. Her lips were blue and her body was cold to the touch.
However, the officer managed to notice a faint murmur. Called for backup immediately. Fortunately, his partner was not far away. Officer Gonzalez worked to find a pulse and was able to establish that the woman was indeed still alive.
Her partner called the woman’s daughter. Officers later learned that the woman in the chair was Krystal Wendt. Her daughter, Rihanna Wundt, arrived home shortly after police arrived.
Crystal was taken to Memorial Community Hospital located in Menomoney Falls, Wisconsin. Fortunately, the hospital was not far from her home. The officers had no idea what had happened to the poor woman. Doctors were able to perform tests and monitor Crystal’s heart condition. Within hours, Crystal was conscious and on the verge of a full recovery.
Gonzalez later learns that Crystal collapsed before she could take her dog, John Boy, for a walk. She fainted, and Jun Boy immediately knew something was wrong. He searched the neighborhood for two hours to find someone who would come to the aid of his owner.
