Back in 2004, Metro reported on Mark Starmer’s first dog adoption, alongside his wife Sharon. While on the quest for their perfect puppy, they encountered numerous other dogs patiently awaiting adoption. Instead of turning away from these dogs’ uncertain future, the couple decided to open their hearts to more adoptions.
Over time, they have lovingly welcomed a total of 46 shelter dogs into their home, even diversifying their canine family with the addition of a grey wolf. Residing on a four-acre property in Canada, their furry companions can freely frolic without a care in the world. These dogs exude liveliness, excitement, and boundless affection, making every dog owner envious of their canine-filled paradise. Coming home to 45 different dogs must be a truly euphoric experience, living the ultimate dream for any dog lover.
Among their heartwarming pack are one grey wolf, four St. Bernards, ten Siberian Huskies, one shar-pei, two poodles, and one Portuguese Water Dog.
Despite their outdoor playtime, all 46 adoptees are also warmly welcomed inside the Starmer’s home. The couple eventually realized that their smaller home in Alberta couldn’t accommodate 46 dogs and two humans, leading them to move into a more spacious living space
