“My parents shared an exceptionally strong bond, and no matter what life threw at them, they knew how to face it together,” Samantha reminisced about her parents. Following her mother’s passing, the family remembered her mother’s request to their father to keep the family united.
“My mom asked my dad to promise her that he would ensure we all stayed together, happy, and healthy, and I believe my father did an incredible job,” she said. A few years after their mother’s passing, their father also succumbed to cancer. “Even though our dad was with us longer than our mom, it still felt like it wasn’t enough time, obviously,” one sibling remarked.
Years after losing both parents, their eldest sister, Samantha, took on the role of head of the household. Samantha had to leave school and secure a full-time job to support her younger siblings.
“At times, it can be financially tight, but with the financial support we receive from our parents’ benefits and my part-time job as a waitress, we manage to make ends meet most of the time,” Samantha shared. During her appearance on “The View,” Samantha credited her mother for providing her with the strength to persevere. “I draw a lot of that strength from my mother,” she acknowledged.
After temporarily leaving school, Samantha returned part-time to set an example for her younger siblings. While on “The View,” the family received unexpected news. A representative from Toyota announced that the renowned car company would be awarding Samantha $15,000 for her education and gifting the family a 2020 Toyota Sienna.
