Milligan showcased his talent on “America’s Got Talent” with an original song titled “Sounds like Something I’d Do,” performed alongside a skilled band. Clad in a complete denim outfit, he played the guitar while singing to his infectious track, captivating the audience and earning praise from the judges. Mandel commended Milligan, stating, “I think that song’s a hit. And I think that you’re a hit. You’re like the new Elvis of country.”
Milligan, a long-time Elvis fan, expressed on his website, “We all get here with a different set of influences. Mine were mainly George Strait and Elvis.” His connection to Elvis became evident when music producer Tony Brown discovered Milligan’s talent during his portrayal of Elvis in the 2017 TV series “Sun Records.”
The judges on “America’s Got Talent” recognized Milligan’s uniqueness. Vergara echoed Mandel’s sentiments, praising the perfect combination of the song and Milligan’s performance. All four judges gave Milligan a unanimous “yes,” propelling him to the next round of the competition. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Milligan exclaimed, “Man, this is like everything I’ve been dreaming since I was a kid, man… I’m shocked right now, I can’t believe it.”
Despite being likened to a music legend, Milligan is determined to carve out his own identity. With his EP already released, he confidently asserted, “I can pave my own way.”
