A heartwarming story of a father who saved the day during his daughter’s ballet performance in Hamilton, Bermuda has gone viral on social media. Marc Daniels, the father of two girls, jumped on stage and joined his two-year-old daughter, Bella, in a dance routine after she began to melt down on stage. The proud dad had practiced with Bella for weeks before the performance and had memorized the moves. With his baby daughter, Suri, in his arms, Daniels took to the stage and performed the ballet dance with his daughter.
Despite Bella having a tantrum during the performance, Daniels could tell she still wanted to stay on stage, and he didn’t want to discourage her before the big performance. He said his actions were instinctive, and he didn’t even consider his actions. He was just in it to make his daughter smile and help her in her hour of need. His confidence and step-by-step demonstration helped calm Bella’s nerves.
Daniels’ heroic dad gesture got him wild applause from the audience, and he even received an invitation to join the performers during his daughters’ next recital. “Before having the girls, I don’t think I’d ever attempted any ballet moves before,” he said. “Maybe it’s never too late to become a ballerina.”
The Motion School of Dance posted the adorable video of the father’s ballet dance on their Facebook page with the caption, “In Motion Dads are the best 💕 Sometimes, you simply need your dad on stage to help bring out your inner ballerina!” Daniels’ gesture reminds us of the importance of being there for our loved ones in their time of need, no matter how unconventional the situation might seem.
