After a hospital visit and a bunch of checkups, JO’s parents received the worst news of their lives. JO suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, ABC News reported. The next three years will be the most difficult in JO’s family life.
JO’s cancer was aggressive, which meant he needed steroids, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. These invasive treatments had detrimental effects on JO’s body and mind.
Even though he had to be away a lot for treatment, he always worked as hard as he could to keep up with his schedule.
Finally, after a grueling three-year test, his medical team has officially declared J.O. free of cancer.
When it came time for JO to show up to school on his first day as a cancer-free kid, his teachers and classmates made sure it was an unforgettable moment for the brave little boy.
As JO walked through the front doors toward his classroom, he was greeted by teachers and friends standing in the hallway cheering him on.
