Collier hails from Brighton, UK, known for its number of buses and focuses on recycling.

He combined the bus and recycling into one when he decided to make his dream home. Collier is a handyman, and on his way home from work, he noticed something amazing.

For most people, this might have been ugly on the eye, but Collier only saw an opportunity. It was a rickety old double-decker bus. It seemed like he was heading for the junkyard too soon.

But Collier was determined to prevent that from happening. He called the company that was canceling the bus and explained that he had to get it.

The company had never had this kind of request from someone who had never worked in the scrap industry before. But they said if he had the money, he could have it. Collier moved back to his current home.

Along the way, he imagined the many improvements he could make to the car.

The next morning, Collier felt confident. Very confident that he has set himself a very tight budget. He told his daughter the “wonderful” news that he had bought a rickety old bus and was going to make it his dream home. And what’s truly amazing is that he was doing it for just £10,000 (around $13,000).

Collier’s daughter looked at Collier like he was crazy. There was no way she was going from their house to the bus. There was no way he could improve the car on such a small budget.

Collier has been brilliant for several years, learning a lot about making things better on a tight budget. Collier decided to restore the old destroyed bus. He first released 42 seats which were welded to the floor.

Collier found an unpleasant surprise waiting for him after removing all the seats from the bus. There was no insulation, so he would definitely need to eat within his budget.

But that didn’t stop him from moving forward, he just had to be more creative.

Next, drill beams through the bus as they require extra support to keep it from collapsing anytime soon.

Collier completed all the work in his spare time. His friends and family wondered where he was all this time as he hid the affair from his family.

As the months passed, he finally had a beautiful house on wheels that he could be proud of.
The end product is a marvel of design, regardless of the intricacies of weight distribution.

In order for the bus to remain stable, he had to ensure that the lower deck would have less weight. While the bus underwent a major makeover, Collier left behind a few items such as the lettering on seat capacity and a sign that read “Mind your head!”

On the upper deck there is a lounge area and a hallway that leads to the three impressive bedrooms.

The bus alone cost him £4,500, and lack of insulation and a faulty generator meant extra expense that was over budget.

He ended up spending £15,000 ($19,000), which is a staggering price for a three-bedroom house with no property taxes! As soon as the project was finished, he showed his daughter, who was completely amazed.

Collier and his daughter visit Britain and Europe whenever they can!
