The young swimmer from Sian Ka’an, Mexico was captured on videotape frantically rushing to the beach with a huge crocodile in pursuit.
If it hadn’t been for the quick thinking of a terrified onlooker watching from a nearby bridge, the swimmer might not have been so lucky. But, luckily, someone threw and opposed the giant animal to deter it from its prey!
Manuel Carrera, who filmed the video, said he filmed it “not so long ago” when the tourist went swimming without knowing that in the area of the Boca Baila bridge, a male crocodile, usually fed by fishermen, prowls on the bridge. The creeper has become adept at stealing fish from anglers.
“Fortunately, we attached this crocodile to food and, as the video shows, the boy was saved as the crocodile was feeding well and pursuing at a pace that allowed him to reach shore,” Serrara said. .
