It’s hard to imagine rock music without Freddie Mercury and Quinn. In fact, it is impossible.
The band formed in 1970 and in 1986 Freddie Mercury took the stage for the last time before being diagnosed with AIDS in 1987. Often Mercury would appear live to stay in the public eye.
It was at the 1990 BRIT Awards that it became clear just how sick Mercury was, Express reports. Unfortunately, after that, the public will never see Freddie Mercury alive again.
It was a well-deserved BRIT Award Queen she won, and it was nice that Mercury was about to receive an award in recognition of her accomplishments with the band.
According to Express, Mercury died a year later in 1991 due to complications from pneumonia.
He left behind a rock music legacy that is still going strong today. As younger generations discover Quinn’s music, Freddie Mercury lives on and keeps rocking!
Mercury has also worked to raise awareness of AIDS since he was in the public eye and his voice could be heard. AIDS was something to be feared in the 1980s and early 1990s, but because of his voice he spoke out, giving people with the deadly disease a chance to live the best life possible until that they succumb to the disease.
