Angelou, a 32-year-old plumber from Colorado, was spending time with his family at Lake Windsor when their leisurely vacation took a drastic turn moments later.
Angelou was wading through the water, the water was waist deep when he felt something in his leg. Angelou kicked him in the leg so he could lift anything he touched. He was shocked when he saw a little girl’s feet floating on the surface.
The body of the little girl named Sitaly was cold and lifeless. Angelou pulled her out of the water. The girl’s skin was blue and he was unconscious. With the help of two nurses and Angelou, they performed CPR. Citaly was admitted to Aurora Children’s Hospital.
The Sitali family was grateful to the man who saved their child’s life. Angelo visited the girl in the hospital and considered her part of his family.
Angelo was at the right time in the right place. Sitaly is recovering in hospital. The little girl was not wearing a life jacket when she sank. Angelou promises to provide flotation devices and life jackets to families who cannot afford them.
