Former English footballer David Beckham was recently hospitalized to undergo surgery related to an old wrist injury. The news came to light after his wife, designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, shared a photo of him lying in a hospital bed with the caption: “Get well soon daddy”, along with a heart emoji.

In the image, shared via Instagram Stories, Beckham is seen wearing a hospital gown and a blue sling on his left arm, appearing to recover after the procedure. The post quickly drew widespread attention and messages of concern and support from fans and international media.
An injury dating back over two decades
According to reports from outlets like People, InStyle, and The Sun, Beckham’s hospitalization was due to lingering issues from a 2003 wrist fracture he suffered during an England match against South Africa. At the time, surgeons inserted a bio-absorbable screw intended to dissolve over time. However, the implant did not dissolve as expected and began causing discomfort in recent years.
The surgery aimed to remove the screw, which had remained in place for more than 20 years. Sources close to the family say the operation was successful and that Beckham is recovering well.

Back home and in good spirits
Just hours after the hospital photo was posted, Victoria shared another image showing David back at home, smiling while holding a handmade bracelet, presumably gifted by one of their children. She also posted a video of him in their garden, joking about an overabundance of homegrown cucumbers—a lighthearted moment that suggests his mood is upbeat.
Fans praised the couple for their openness and the warmth of the family bond on display. Social media quickly filled with well-wishes and supportive comments for the football icon.
